Wilkesoid shoulder & arming a straight one at Clyst Hydon on Tour... pitching off-stump, hitting off-stump; off-stump emphatically uprooted.

In the infamous words, "No one likes to see that!"

Bahhhaaaaahhhahaaaaaaa

While I, also, subscribe to the 'Never let the truth get in the way of a good story' way of doing things, I should point out that to cliam it was "a straight one at Clyst Hydon on Tour... pitching off-stump" is about as accurate as your bowling was at Shepperton Wink

I will not ,however, dispute that I shouldered arms and that my off-stump went cartwheeling away to the wicket keeper. That said, I'm not sure that trying to play it with my bat would have made too much difference Rolling Eyes

I would like to nominate Clive Saunders, who was faithfully following Praveen's car to Sidmouth, unfortunately not realising that Prav was taking a rather large detour to Clyst Hydon in order to pick up our Sri Lankan overseas guest player!

Very Happy

I've heard it all now!

Request from one of our players on Sunday for the umpire (me) to stand to one side whilst the bowler was running in as he couldn't see him when I was standing in the customary position behind the stumps!!!

Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!

Yes, the £ 8.10 catch money was a bit special. I think that this must be some sort of record. Even with my slightly "iffy" catching - at least in my earlier days, I don't think I ever racked up up anything like this, although to be fair to JP, he was a bit unlucky in that we took 8 catches and only dropped 2. The ratio is normally the other way around! Wink
